F Sharp Medium Professional Bamboo Flute of Kali-3 is approximately 14 inches long flute and is the seventh flute of 5th octave. The flute is tuned to sound F#5 pitch (739.99 Hz) when the upper three holes are closed.

When all the six holes are closed, the flute sounds C# note of 5th octave (C#54).

Structure and Format : F Sharp Medium Professional Flute

The F Sharp Medium Professional Bamboo Flute which is also called Kali-3 bansuri is a transverse flute with a mouth hole and six finger holes. A 7th hole made offset from the line of the finger hole determines its 5th Note which is C#.

The 7th hole when closed produce C5 note, which is also called Tivra Madhyam (Mandra Saptak).

The format of F Sharp Medium Bamboo Flute is Hindustani Style. The Kali-3 Hindustani or the North Indian Bansuri is designed to sound the root note i.e F# note (739.99  Hz) when the upper three holes are closed.

How to Play Complete Octave on F Sharp Bansuri?

The full octave of the C scale on the F Sharp Medium Bansuri is played as follows:

• F#5 : Upper three holes closed
• G#5 : Upper tow holes closed
• A#5 : The top hole is closed
• B5 : Half of the top hole is closed
• C#6 : When all six holes are covered and air is blown with a relatively stronger force (if blown gently, the lower notes will be produced)
• D#6 : When the last finer hole is opened (relatively stronger blow)
• F6 : When the last two finger holes are opened (relatively stronger blow)
• F#6 : The Last three finger holes opened (relatively stronger blow)

Note : For C#6, D#6, F6, & F#6 note, one has to blow relatively stronger, else lower octave notes will sound.
