C Sharp Medium Professional Bamboo Flute is approximately 18 inches long flute and is the second flute of 5th octave . The flute is tuned to sound C#5 pitch (554.36) when the upper three holes are closed.

When all the six holes are closed, the flute sounds G# note of 4th octave (G#4).

Structure and Format : C Sharp Medium Professional Flute

The C Sharp Medium Professional Bamboo Flute which is also called Kali-1 bansuri is a transverse flute with a mouth hole and six finger holes. A 7th hole made offset from the line of the finger hole determines its 5th Note which is G#. The 7th hole when closed produce G4 note, which is also called Tivra Madhyam (Mandra Saptak)

The format of C Sharp Medium Bamboo Flute is Hindustani Style. The Kali-1 Hindustani or the North Indian Bansuri is designed to sound the root note i.e C# note (554.36) when the upper three holes are closed.

How to Play Complete Octave on C Sharp Bansuri?

The full octave of the C Sharp scale on the C Sharp Medium Bansuri is played as follows:

• C#5 : Upper three holes closed
• D#5 : Upper tow holes closed
• F5 : The top hole is closed
• F#5 : Half of the top hole is closed
• G# : When all six holes are covered and air is blown with a relatively strong force (if blown gently, the lower notes will be produced)
• A#5 : When the last hole is opened (relatively stronger blow)
• C6 : Last two holes are opened (relatively stronger blow)
• C#6 : Upper three holes closed (relatively stronger blow)

Note : For G#, A#, C & upper C# note, one has to blow relatively stronger, else lower octave notes will sound.
